hello,
i think the people who were at the meeting on friday all felt that the time has come to start meeting much more regularly and get decisions made that included all of us! Although time is going quickly, there is still time to be inventive and creative and bring up as many ideas as possible regarding how we are going to curate the show....which will then lead to what will go aside of it i.e. catalogue etc.
We all have a meeting with Susan Diab on monday morning and then we will see her individually throughout the day on monday. After the first meeting with Susan i suggest that we split the group into four groups. Everyone in these four groups (like in the interim presentations) will have their chance to convey their ideas.
After these meetings i then thought that we could all meet in a big group after lunch at about 2pm and then discuss what we have all talked about in each group together. The reason i thought we should meet in small groups first was so that everyone had a chance to speak as i sometimes feel that in a big group it is difficult for everyone to have a voice. This way we will have a better chance to hear everyones thoughts and ideas.
I think we should use any time we have next week to meet and bash out ideas, any ideas, rather than giving into something that just dosn't excite us. Some of us felt at the meeting that even if we come to the same conclusion as we have already come to regarding the show, at least we will have made an attempt to share ideas and know that we have tried our best to come to a decision that we are all happy about.
I personally feel that we should all try to be in everyday next week, or at least meet everyday next week to talk through things whether it be at college or on the beach etc...... Hopefully by next friday we will have a better idea about how the show is going to look and have all come to some sort of decision that we are all happy about.
So on monday i will divide the group into four and put up a list. At least half of the people in each group will be people who attended friday's crit and meeting so can fill the people in who weren't there on what we have discussed.
I hope everyone is ok with this, if people are not happy with this then let me know, but i thought it would be one of the best ways to get the ball rolling. If anyone has any more visuals that they want to bring in then this could be very helpful and we can stick them up and start some sort of exhibition board....
If anyone can't make it to the meeting could you let someone know.
