Hello all,
i will also print these off to put on the board in the studio, but here's a run down of the latest from the cfap meeting
General
We know everyone is busy and we can't all make it every monday, but we'd like to see more people at meetings. we discussed whether people wanted an agenda for monday meetings or not ?? so we decided we'd also bring some stuff up on wednesday after presentations, just things of most importance. If you look at the studio board or on here, then that'll help with any queries etc. please and thank you,
Exhibition
on wednesday we will be handing out a questionaire about what they envision for the show, what medium etc. So if you can fill that in on weds and hand it into me after, (i'll need it before monday) then monday we wanted to go through conflicts of spaces, similarities in work etc- to help us start organising what we'd like to do for the show
delegating tasks- we will begin to do this- funding etc
Funding/sponsors- Will is contacting Dulux about getting paint for his work and possibly for the studio, Hannah was looking into asking B&Q. if anyone has any ideas of sponsors or contacts that may be useful can they contact and ask. Think of applying for materials rather than money!, as we need money for materials mainly-then the money can go towards other stuff
We imagine the cinema room is going to be a bigger job than other room, maybe start this earlier?
Zoe proposed that the in-between-space be a token gesture of a white cube and last week zoe did propose a title for the show 'The degree to which white walls are necessary'
Black space- windows are ugly so we considered whether to put curtains up or paint all the windows and have a black space with spotlights
Does anyone know any of cfap's previous 3rd year students still in Brighton, we wanted to get feedback on how they thought it went, what theyd do differently etc etc.
Presentations- Will raised concerns over the purpose of the presentation, leave many people quite low afterwards. Maybe this is because they come across as quite negative, is this a must for the presentations? Are the point of the presentations to make you feel quite low, in order to really consider the pertinence of the work in the art environment? Or to present work to get constrcutive feedback on it, and continue progressing the work? Also, that tutorials are not consistent with the criticism in presentations, things picked apart in presentation werent an issue in tutorials- so we'd carry on regardless.
all years get together!!! possibly Weds 24th January, (let us know how convenient this is) we wanted to have a knees up in the studio, some food, and drinks so we can get to know everyone. Helping to get to know the other years so that we are more acquainted before we need help in the show. start at the studio, then pub or elsewhere.
MONEY FOR GET TOGETHER- we will put together a kitty, where we all put in £2 to go towards drinks and food for the get together. so no ones out pocket, so please i will be ballif and can you hand me the £2 either weds or monday and i will tick your name off the list. The moto is more wine, less cakes! And no money, no wine!
well there you go everyone, any queries you know where we are monday 1pm the studios, see you soon
